Dallas Fort-Worth Texas Smith
This little guy has a personality as big and bold as The Lone Star State itself. One of the first to approach Humans, and a very brave explorer, Dallas has captured everybody’s heart who meets him. Huge Sweetheart. Loves pets and will do a big purr. Starting to approach and ask for food.
When we captured him he had an old cut on his front left paw that was looking inflamed and obviously licked clean of fur. Surprisingly after just a day or two it really healed up and it’s just pink now.
Weight as of 4/2 : 2.1 lbs
Rare Coloration! White all over face and bottom half with traditional tabby up top! Male
(The Best Ever Death Metal Band out of) Denton Smith
Denton isn’t so much shy as he is Independent. He is very content to sit by himself and watch the others play. He loves to get in on a wand toy or wrestle, but also to watch from far away - usually up high.
Weight as of 4/2: 2.1 lbs
Very Stripey with all white under belly, chin and neck. "Chocolate Milk Mustache" Mark on nose. MaleAll black with gorgeous Orange Eyes. Male(North) Memphis Tennessee Smith
Memphis is one of the first cats to approach Humans, with Dallas. Outgoing and always chasing or jumping. VERY vocal. Asks for food before any other kittens. Was the last kitten weaned from Temu, the mother. Was kneading and trying to nurse up to the release of Temu following her spay. Loves to get pets and will very loudly purr. No Biscuits as of the 2nd.
Weight as of 4/2: 2.1 lbs

Most recently I’ve constructed a fairly crude, but sturdy Cat Tree from 4×4 posts, 2×4’s and various scrap materials. Rest assured the Crow’s Nest and Top Perch are very securely attached, with multiple braces to prevent racking and wobbling. I previously built a Cat Tree for the Resident Cats here using a Magnolia branch - which was very hard to work with by the way. So sticky. Anyway I learned a lot building the first one.
I purchased some discount carpet from the unfortunately named Dixie Carpets here in town which I learned how to attach from the aforementioned Tree. So many nails and staples. Anyway the carpet has gone over well. I made a hammock for the first time. It came to me in a genuine Flash Of Inspiration. I have a website I can talk about whatever I want - look I make paintings and part of that has lead to me making my own canvases. When you do that having an electric stapler is awesome. What i’m saying is I realized the way you stretch canvas and staple it on the back would make a perfect hammock for kittens. Maybe cats. I feel like it would need glue to be more permanent and not fall. This is kind of a temporary construction that I want to take apart and make better and just use in the house.
It was a few hours work and I’m posting picture of them on it so I’m gonna write a thing about it because I am Allowed.
Man also the rope - surprisingly expensive and very tiring on the hands. I had my left palm cramp for the first time while I was wrapping it around and I thought I was having a stroke. It was very painful.
I’ve also created what I am calling the Curiosity Pole Sensatorium. I have wrapped rope and canvas and carpet in one very thick cardboard tube I paid $10 for at the previously mentioned discount carpet shop and I’m gonna use it.
The litter is contained beneath the main structure - supported by 2 2×4’s under .75 plywood. I brad nailed the scraps of tempered hardboard I had around and it looks bad. It keeps the litter inside which is what matters. Also note - there is no way inside the undercarriage, so
I hate asking for money. Everybody does. When we first put out traps we knew what we were signing up for. If this feature goes unused, that’s totally fine. I just wanted to create the option. People can surprise you!
